The NY Post is getting in trouble for the false information they reporting regarding the police wanting to question Mary-Kate Olsen. (They don’t).
Col Allen, editor of the NY Post, sent the following email to New York Magazine:
We confirmed this story last night with an impeccable source inside the NYPD and we stand by our reporting. Almost immediately after the tragic passing of Mr. Ledger, Ms. Olsen’s attorneys began emailing us threatening letters. As has been well reported, there were a number of calls to Ms. Olsen from the masseuse before the NYPD arrived on the scene. We would find it strange if Ms. Olsen were not questioned at all. The New York Post will not be pressured and we find it odd that the chiefs at the NYPD appear to be terrified of 4-foot-11 inch, 90-pound Mary Kate Olsen.
While it is strange that Mary-Kate isn’t getting questioned at all (just for confirmation purposes), this email is a bit harsh, don’t you think?
Thanks to jj for the tip!

With the shockwaves sent through Hollywood as a result of Heath Ledger’s death on Tuesday, the celebrity world (as well as the rest of the world) has been reeling. And earlier today, Mary-Kate Olsen released a statement.
Olsen was the first person contacted by the massage therapist, Diana Wolozin, who discovered Heath’s body earlier this week.

The masseuse who found Heath Ledger's body on Tuesday, Diana Lee Wolozin, is now facing some legal trouble.
George Clooney only realized that he lived mere yards from Britney Spears on the night of the custody dispute which landed her on the psych ward. Clooney described the commotion as "something out of Die Hard." • Madonna reportedly bought the house next door to her London pad and turned it into a gym. Now she's just waiting for the permits to knock down an adjoining wall so she doesn't have to walk outside like the common people. • Mary Kate Olsen released a statement today about possible paramour Heath Ledger: "Heath was a friend. His death is a tragic loss. My thoughts are with his family during this very difficult time." [Us, DListed, TMZ]
With her name becoming an increasingly larger component to the story of Heath Ledger's untimely passing, people have been waiting to hear Mary-Kate Olsen's reaction to the whole sad string of events.
Earlier today, the starlet's rep issued a statement addressing just that:
"Heath was a friend. His death is a tragic loss. My thoughts are with his family during this very difficult time."
Luckily for Mary-Kate, it appears that the police will give her plenty of room to grieve - Yahoo reports that the cops have eliminated "any need to interview Miss Olsen" about the circumstances surrounding Ledger's death.
Poor Mary-Kate - this must be so hard on her!

On the day of Heath Ledger’s death, there weren’t many details on what happened once his body was discovered by masseuse, Diana Wolozin. Today, it’s been revealed, that when Diana found Heath unconscious, she phoned Mary-Kate Olsen three times before calling 911. Then ten minutes later, made a fourth and final call to Mary-Kate. OK! says Diana knew Mary-Kate and knew that Heath and Mary-Kate were friends which is why she called her first. In fact, such good friends that Mary-Kate finally released a statement on the second day after his death.
“Heath was a friend. His death is a tragic loss. My thoughts are with his family during this very difficult time.”
I wish Mary-Kate was my friend. I’d get one of those medic alert bracelets and program it to phone her instead of an ambulance. It’ll be like a Bat Signal for that horribly dressed chimney. I’m sure after 10 minutes of ignoring my cries for help, she’ll finally check her voicemail. I think if I were to ever actually do that, my only hope would be that I was fortunate enough to have a heart attack in the middle of the street. That way, whoever steals the wallet off my lifeless body might feel sorry for me and call 911.
