Sometimes you need a revelation to make you do the right thing.
That's what happened to Mary-Kate recently as she was driving her car all alone. She was daydreaming when suddenly she saw a vision, a vision of her future child, Sarah. Sarah over the years watched her mother smoke like a chimney and thought nothing of it, she was just a child.
But suddenly without warning, at age 30, Mary-Kate gets cancer, lung cancer. She fights it, she goes to the best doctors, but to no avail, it takes her at 32. Sarah, her only child, watches helplessly as her mother dies and goes to heaven.
That did it.
Mary-Kate slammed on the brakes and gets out, her chest heaving, her eyes watering. With a determined look on her face she smokes one last cigarette, puts it out, and swears to never smoke again.
For herself she wouldn't of done it. For her baby, yes.

They smoke because they don’t want to be perfect role models like they used to be before they got rid of Robert Thorne. He was always telling them to be perfect and now they’re rebelling and taking control of their bodies and lives. Sad that to them “taking control” means starving, doing drugs and smoking. But it’s the only way they know how to assert their independences after years of being puppets on a string.
