I think its awful for maryKate to smoke because since she’s a role model for so many girls all over the worls she’ll have a bad influence on them . I dont’ know whats happened to her lately she’s lost a tremendous amount of weight and she looks skinny . also her clothes are weird . But i still like her . She’s a sweet and cute girl . Hey look i is sorry. man, look u can c da pickle i is in. i mean i think she should ave hr own free will, but wot if she is doing something dangerous or harmful 2 hr or someone else. Wot cn i do??? i cant say she is a human being and has the right 2 free will, if i strt hounding hr like the media saying stuff like
“Y do u smoke?” or manipulating hr with blackmail by saying “i will not b ur fan if u continu smoking!” as a fan i just want da bst 4 hr. As fans we cn HELP her but not have complete contrl ovr hr body and mind. i must say im as displzd as anyone on this site that she smokes, but also displzd by the amount of language some of the fans r puttng on about hr smoking. they r putting hr undr more pressure and if that continus then she MIGHT go on2 hrdr drugs like crack or heroin. i feel that the only reason she strtd smoking is coz of pressure. i doubt she is the kinda girl who smokes bcoz of hr friends or 2 look cool. that is wot i think. I’m not sure why you think smoking, coffee and anorexia are all mutually exclusive…saying that she should just focus on the recovery for her eating disorder and not the smoking and coffee is naive. Anorexia is an addictive compulsive behavior, you can’t treat one addiction without showing light on all of them. The statement “she is the only one who has control of her”, is ridiculous. Anorexia is an addiction to controlling your weight, your food etc….because you feel so out of control in other areas of your life…It’s not a question of freedom or taking it easy…as you said many girls die of this as well as other eating disorders…there is no way to relax about that. Why is it that when celebrities or anyone else for that matter is held accountable for their behavior…everyone gets defensive and says oh leave so and so alone. If it’s obvious that she is causing herself harm, why start ranting about her personal freedom. Cigarettes are as hard to kick as Heroin. Fact. They also kill more people than anorexia can. Fact. Just because they are legal only means that the government cares more about the profit they make in there joint ventures with the cigarette companies then the health of the public. Grow up. Imagine the impact she would have if she said she quit smoking because it was bad for her or because she knew someone who died of lung cancer and was a longtime smoker. She isn’t a poor girl…quite the opposite. She has a lot of power. the girl has more money than Madonna . She’s a Billionaire…and she has alot of influence. Aftreall you are on a site dedicated to her and her sister…not a site dedicated to your friend from school.

It is totally Mary-Kate’s decision if she wants to smoke. Yes, it is unhealthy, as well as being over-caffeinated. The grrl has been through a lot, though. So many people with eating disorders, whether they are in the throws of it or in recovery, smoke and drink coffees, diet cokes, etc. She has enough pressure as it is than people chastizing her and treating her like she is still a little child–THAT can do more harm to her mentality than what the legal addictions can. She also still is young and experimenting with life. She can still quit smoking and lay down on the coffee later on, but it is better to have the eating disorder more under control, because there is a 15% death rate for anorexia, which increases the longer the illness is symptomatic. And about people getting ideas from her–people are almost just as apt to get ideas from people they know or see in real life. So lets cut MK some slack–let her chill, relaw, take it easy, and do what she has to do for HER for now. She is the only one who has control of her.

Yeah, I mean i like totally agree with evry thing u just said. if she knows wot smokin can do 2 u and if she is aware of that thn there is nothing wrong with hr wanting 2 smoke. but i do believe that she should b more discrete about it and she should certainly not just do it to look sxy or horny bcoz it makes hr look like a bit of a slag. She is a sweet girl. She also happens to be whether she likes it or not a role model for many girls. Car exhaust is bad for the whole world. The fact that there is a greenhouse effect seems to have escaped you. Why do you think that stars like Leo Dicaprio drive a Toyota Prius or other hybrid cars?…because they care about the enviornment. They look beyond themselves and their own lives and think of future generations. It’s legal to cut yourself too, but that doesn’t make it right. Think people. These days celebrity paparazzi make a fortune on pictures. They sell millions of tabloids bought by millions of people. If you smoked a cigarette, your influence is marginal compared to Mary Kates. It is bad for her image and health. If she smokes then she smokes and it’s her health…but mary Kate know she gets photographed…she should be more discreet about it…by the way Ashley Olsen smokes too..just not in public. Most stars smoke…but their publicists usually talk to them about these finer points of celebritydom. Watch what you say and watch what you do..because so many little girls are looking at you. It’s about being responsible and accountable for your fame.

Xactly. i admit it is wrong 4 hr to be posing with a *** as it is bad 4 hr image and little kids may end up thinkin it makes u famous or somein’ and also i found wot she did in the restaurant toilets very irresponsible and trampy. Mary Kate Olsen is a young girl whose entire life was lived out in the public…she was a prime candidate for the troubles she has encountered in life. I hope she decides to stay in school. An education will help her navigate adulthood. Smoking and the coffee are just other addictions. I wish her luck in her recovery.
