>> PageSix Caught Misrepresenting "Coupon" Story
Remember the whole "coupon" story where Mary-Kate was portrayed as being cheap? Allow me to refresh your memory:
Nydailynews.com (3-15-2005)
THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE: Mary-Kate Olsen might be worth $137 million, but Lowdown hears that the 18-year-old twin recently took her new chocolate Lab puppy to the Heart of Chelsea Animal Hospital and "demanded" a free consultation from veterinarian Marc Siebert. A Lowdown spy reports: "Evidently, some time ago, Heart of Chelsea had given a coupon to David Katzenberg for a free checkup. And he never used it, so she waddled in with a huge bodyguard trying to make good on his free appointment." Added the spy: "She told Dr. Siebert that she hired the best dog trainer in the city, and he responded, 'For you, or the dog?'" Neither Mary-Kate's rep nor Siebert returned Lowdown's messages by deadline.
Juicy eh? Too bad it's not what happened. Here's what really happened according to a blog entry by a friend of Marc Siebert himself:
blog.360.yahoo.com/ Marshagarsha
"One day, the infamous Mary-Kate Olsen came in to buy her boyfriend a dog and in doing so, received a coupon for a free veterinary exam at Marc's clinic. Marc said when she came in to his clinic with the dog,
"...she was a very lovely young lady and despite having a coupon for free exam spent at least $500 on supplies and food. He said they had a brief side discussion about dog training during which he told her that a trainer's job is not to train the dog, but to teach the owner how to train the dog themselves."
Well, it turns out that there was a Page Six gossip rag reporter from the NY Post in his office at the same time, and she'd overheard their entire conversation between Marc and MK. The next day, Page Six published an article about MK's visit to Marc's clinic, but with quite the spin on it.
The article blasted MK for being "cheap" and demanding a free exam from Marc, and then said that Marc counteracted by implying that he didn't know if she'd need a dog trainer for her dog or for herself. Marc said...
"...a lot of people he knew read the article, which mentioned him and his clinic by name, and that he was 'mortified'. "
DAY-yam! Evil evil evil Page Six, which is of course owned by the NY Post, i.e. the same folks who bring you Unfair and Unbalanced Fox News, so whaddya expect?"

Wow! I can’t even comprehend having that much money. I know they have worked their entire lives and were lucky enough to become so disgustingly rich, but with all this money I was just wondering what sort of charity work they have done. How about the recent hurricane relief?

Typical muck-racking clap-trap. Why does ANYONE believe ANYTHING from the tabloid press? I mean, jeez, how many times did M-K “quit school” last year? How many relapses did she have? [must have been pretty few, considering how she is looking, and dressing, lately…]
If people would stop buying that crap, it wouldn’t be around to smeer and defame the celebrities - but idiots still keep buying it, and moronic idiots still believe it…. unbelievable.
I couldn’t agree more!
I’m third!
I love Mary-kate very much!
Well said. The tabloids sit on the peak of a mountain of lies.
