SOme people are just laid back
and you can’t tell by appearance if shes happy or not
you have to know the inside and what shes really like behind closed doors

I love MK very much and YES IT IS HER CHOICE but all I want is for her to be HAPPY with her choice by SMILING for the cameras and holding her head up and back straight. She does not look happy these days she never smiles anymore and as a lifelong fan I am concerned, that’s all I’m saying.

Yeah, but Michael,
She is STILL anorexic and she sure don’t strike me as HAPPY. I think it’s cool that she wants to be her own person, but then don’t you think she should hold her head up high and smile for the cameras? Isn’t that a part of NOT CARING? If she were really self confident and at peace, she would WAVE at the cameras, not try to hide. That’s what I was talking about - the HIDING. Clearly she is not the proud, devil-may-care girl you take her for.

I totally Agree with you Michael..

I Must admit that i don’t really like her fashion sense now, i dont understand what she wears now,but if that makes her happy..why not?! It’s still good as long as she’s comfortable and happy with what she wears. And it doesn’t make me love her less for that. Unlike the others..

i will agree she might get a tad more attention due to her “fashion forward” attire, but only a tad. she didnt always dress that way right? at their first public appearance over 20,000 fans attended. thats when they were children!

i dont think what mary-kate wears has that much to do with how much attention she gets. and i dont think that is her motivation anyway. her motivation is she doesnt care, she’s learned not to care, its part of her therapy. learning NOT to care what other people think is a major part of getting over something like anorexia. what better way than to wear what SHE wants to wear, what SHE thinks she looks good in, no matter what you or i or anyone else thinks?

i imagine her old thought process went like this:

“i love these clothes on me. i look good in it. but, oh no, what would people think if i wore this? how would this affect my image? dualstar? sales? everyone would criticize me, make me feel bad. i cant.”

depression sets in. shes out of control. she cant be what she wants to be. what’s left for her? anorexia.

the new mary-kate:

“i dont give a crap what anyone thinks anymore. im not a bad person. if you want to copy me go ahead but im not responsible for you. YOU are. yes i smoke a little, yes i drink a little, yes i go to parties and wear clothes that you dont understand or like. but hey, im not doing anything wrong. im just being me. whats wrong with that? nothing. im wearing what i want. im doing what i like. im living my life. who will answer for me when i die? who will i have to blame that i didnt do what i wanted with my life and now have so many regrets? you?”

There are many many young and attractive Hollywood stars who don’t get chased by the papparazzi every five minutes, because there are just normal. Claire Danes and Natalie Portman get left alone. And I agree with the poster who said that Ashley gets left alone much more than MK. MK enjoys the attention in some perverse way and she would wither and die without it.

I agree with you Michael! On both bus riding and MK’s picture being taken (no matter WHAT she would wear)! She’s an individual (which they always talked and sang about in their videos) and I LOVE riding the bus in big cities such as Los Angeles and Las Vegas! You can enjoy the scenery and get where you want to go; for about a buck, and you don’t have to deal with the other stupid drivers on the road! HaHa! You can also strike-up interesting conversations with the other passengers on the bus sometimes (even with the driver sometimes — lol)! Anyway; Mary-Kate looks PERFECT, as usual, here! I don’t agree, Michael. She would not have her photo taken so very often if she weren’t so controversial. Dressing like a bum and looking as skinny as a concentration camp victim will get you tons of attention. There are many many young and attractive Hollywood stars who don’t get chased by the papparazzi every five minutes, because there are just normal. Claire Danes and Natalie Portman get left alone. And I agree with the poster who said that Ashley gets left alone much more than MK. MK enjoys the attention in some perverse way and she would wither and die without it.
