Mary-Kate Olsen, as usual, is on the cutting edge of artistic expression. Leading contemporary artists are just now agreeing with her that crayons are the newest technique to get back in touch with their inner child and release their innate creative energy that they've lost after becoming an adult. Mary-Kate is calling this the KayOn technique.
Mary-Kate was asked by a reporter what she was teaching in her class today:
"Crayons have a rich history and are undoubtedly the most popular art materials product in the U.S., but there is a stigma that crayons carry in the contemporary art world. The ancient Greeks painted with waxes and all Greek sculpture was painted with wax. Waxes have to be heated and cured, hence the term "encaustic" for this process. There are reports of a legendary cold wax technique used by the Greeks in paintings. The recipe was never discovered. My intuition tells me that crayons might be that lost method."

i don’t understand why everybody keeps saying: ooh mk looks so good and so pretty. i don’t agree. you can’t see if she is doing alright, her clothes are still too big and her glasses cover up her whole face. so you can’t see if she’s looking better than before. she still looks very thin and messy.
