Webster, NY - What do Abby Wambach, Phil Mickelson, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Jim Boeheim and Chuck Mangione have in common?
Besides being successful in their respective fields, they’re also contributors to the second Christopher’s Challenge CYP Basketball Tournament, a three-day event that combines hoops, auction items and bone marrow drives.
This year’s tournament runs Friday to Jan. 9 at St. John Fisher College and the Webster Field House near R.L. Thomas High School.
Among the items up for grabs this year: a soccer ball autographed by Olympian and Mercy High graduate Abby Wambach; signed photographs from Cal Ripken Jr. and pro golfer Mickelson; a basketball signed by the Syracuse University Orange; a video and CD autographed by the Olsen twins; a T-shirt, program and team photo provided by the Duke women’s basketball team; various autographed items sent in by the Rochester Red Wings; and two shirts courtesy of Mangione, the award-winning jazz artist.
According to Kathy Costello the autographed video and cd is "When In Rome."
