Okay, so I know theres been a few synopsises (sp?) about the wackness and mk's role in it...thought i'd give mine as well. I went to sundance and was thrilled i was able to get some world premire wackness tickets. First of all, the movie was brilliant, and there are talks that it will probably be picked up for distribution. The chemistry between the boy (josh pell? i always forget his name) and olivia thirlby is chilling and amazing. They were actually filmed in a different movie together as well, so that probably has something to do with it. Anyway, Mary-kate is only in the movie for two or three scenes, one of them very brief, of her just dancing crazily in the park. The other is a longer bar scene, the one where she makes out with ben kingsley (spelling, i know). The kiss was brief and her back was toward the camera the whole time so it was kindof hard to see. It wasnt nearly as steamy or scandalous as it was made to be before the movie was shown. Mk came out with the rest of the cast at the end for the Q&A...she was dressed in all black, black coat, pants, shoes, everything. I guess youve all seen the pictures of it by now. when she responded to questions, she seemed a bit immature, she stumbled over her words, put her hands up to her face, was playing with her hair...her reply to her question was very simple and..i dont know. I got the impression she wasnt the most articulate person in the world. Maybe she was just nervous, or tired, or whatever. She looked great though. I was in the front row, and got up when Q&A was over to try and get a pictrue with her and tell her i liked the movie, but as soon as the Q&A ended she was out the door;everyone else stayed. Hope you all go out and see the wackness when it eventually gets relseased.

NEW YORK -- Mary-Kate Olsen says Heath Ledger was a "friend" in a brief statement released Friday, the same day police said they have no interest in interviewing the "Full House" star.

Released by her publicist, the statement is the first word from Olsen since the Australian-born actor's death. In its entirety, it reads:

"Heath was a friend. His death is a tragic loss. My thoughts are with his family during this very difficult time."

Police said the masseuse who found Ledger's body Tuesday spent nine minutes making three calls to the Olsen twin before dialing 911 for help, then called Olsen a fourth time after paramedics arrived. At some point during the flurry of calls, Olsen, who was in California, summoned her personal security guards to the apartment to help, police said.

NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said investigators have no interest in talking to Olsen. They interviewed everyone at the scene, each of whom was cooperative. That eliminated "any need to interview Miss Olsen," he said.

Olsen's whereabouts were unknown Friday. A private viewing was scheduled for Friday at the Frank E. Campbell funeral home in Manhattan, and Ledger's family was flying to the U.S. from his native Australia.

Police set up barricades outside the funeral home as Ledger's family made arrangements to claim the body of the 28-year-old "Brokeback Mountain" actor. Their plans were not immediately known, though Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith said his government would do whatever is needed to help the family bring back his body to Australia.

Ledger's publicist, Mara Buxbaum, said no details about the funeral would be shared with the media.

Ledger's family placed a death notice in The West Australian, a newspaper based in his hometown of Perth, remembering him as "the most amazing 'old soul' in a young man's body."

"As a close knit and very private family we have observed you so determined yet quietly traveling in your self-styled path in life, nothing would get in your way ... no mountain too tall, no river too wide," said the notice, which the newspaper said had been submitted by Ledger's relatives. ".... Our hearts are broken."

The actor's sister, Kate, said she could "hardly breathe" as she tried to write her tribute. "We were the ultimate soul mates," she said.

"You were so many things to so many people, but to me you were just my little brother."

The cause of Ledger's death will not be known for at least a week, after medical examiners complete toxicology tests. Authorities suspect a possible overdose, but nothing conclusive has been determined. Several prescription drugs were found in the Manhattan apartment where Ledger's body was found.

The masseuse who found him, Diana Wolozin, apparently knew both Ledger and Olsen and knew they were friends. Messages left at telephone numbers listed for Wolozin were not returned.

“The Wackness” starring Ben Kingsley, Josh Peck, Olivia Thrilby and Mary-Kate Olsen received more than critical acclaim–it won the Audience Award in the dramatic film category at the Sundance Film Festival.

It was picked up by Sony Pictures Classics for distribution, meaning it will be in theaters near you! Hopefully sooner than later. Some think finding an audience for the film may prove to be difficult, but only time will tell.

Congratulations to the cast, crew and to writer/director Jonathan Levine!

It’s all over except for the long lines at security in the Salt Lake City airport. The awards were handed out last night by a jury featuring Quentin Tarantino and Marcia Gay Harden, and the top honors went to a couple of politically-charged pictures that flew under the radar for most of the festival. The grand jury prize for drama went to Frozen River, writer-director Courtney Hunt’s film about two women smuggling immigrants across the Canadian border. The top prize for documentaries went to Trouble the Water, about New Orleans families struggling in the aftermath of Katrina.

But that’s not all. As Kenneth Turan notes, awards were handed out like Halloween candy this year, with top audience prizes going to The Wackness and Fields of Fuel. Other notable recipients include American Teen (for dramatic directing), Man on Wire (for world documentary) and Choke (special jury prize for ensemble cast). Over at Slamdance, a documentary about a Neil Diamond cover band (Song Sung Blue) was the big winner.

In addition to its award, The Wackness picked up a distributor. Per the Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures Classics will ensure that you get the opportunity to watch Ben Kingsley and Mary-Kate Olsen swapping spit.

Mary-Kate Olsen seems to be adjusting to things well back in NYC.

The actress was at Sundance promoting a project when she was the first to hear about the death of her former pt boyfriend Heath Ledger.

Olsen was reportedly gyrated at a hip downtown NYC club before kissing a male friend in her entourage the other night.

The New York Daily News revealed today the night of frantic partying came just hours before Olsen made a brief public statement about Ledger.

Released by her publicist, the statement was the first word from Olsen since the Australian-born actor's death.

"Heath was a friend. His death is a tragic loss. My thoughts are with his family."

She cared sooo much. The cocaine keeps her going, it is all gravy!!!
