Apparently Mary-Kate is in the movie, but only in the background for a moment. No talky. Would of been better to just cut her out completely cause that is just insulting. I mean she’s emmy nominated with over 20 years of acting experience for gods sake. What a waste. Leave it to Hollywood to judge an actor merely by shallow first impressions.

And how bad Illeana Douglas is as famous Vogue editor Diana Vreeland in her one scene (no one can even be bothered to pronounce the historical figure’s name correctly — it was Dee-anna, not Die-anna).And how totally absent credited co-star Mary-Kate Olsen is. You barely see her standing in the background of one shot. Whatever screen time she got was chopped out completely.

The wild, unhinged life of Andy Warhol’s favorite "superstar," Edie Sedgwick, is refashioned in "Factory Girl" as a tame biopic with little feel for the 1960s New York Underground. Though Sedgwick embodied everything that glittered and grated about the era’s counterculture, director George Hickenlooper evinces no deep interest in the time and place, resulting in a film that feels removed from its source. With last-minute reshoots and editing, the pic feels rushed, and it will have a hard time registering with target auds until impending vid release.

If you really want to know more about Edie, Andy, Bob and all the people in "Factory Girl," there are plenty of books and documentaries from which to draw the "real" story. But if you just want to see a really entertaining movie about a slice of New York pop culture, with terrific, energetic performances from good young actors, this movie is sufficient.

Factory Girl doesn’t deserve Mary-kate. Probably thousands people are going to go watch it just to see mary-kate. They’d want their money back.
I want to see Ashley act
Yes, we’ve never seen them doing heavy roles in a Serious Film So,how can we say that they can’t Act. Well,i personally think that Ashley is the better actress.
The first time i saw them acting serious is on NYM, when they were fighting in Times Square. I can see that Ashley CAN Act, she has the talent of Acting. Her facial expressions there was perfect! (Which is the most important) While MK is good too, but i think she’s better in Comedy. Ashley is Well Rounded,she can do both.
Like I said before MK did the right conduct. Somebody cuted her. This is selfish. But more than one man laboured and worked for that film.
You’re saying MK isn’t a good actor. But she didn’t played in a seious film, she couldn’t has a chance to show her properties.

it doesn’t matter if she CAN or CAN’T act….as a former college/semi-pro athlete, when u get picked by a team, u feel really good about urself, cause ur WANTED….but when u get stuck on the bench, and don’t get into the game, u feel ****** and NOT WANTED!!!…whether she/i deserved to get into the game/movie or not, when this kinda thing happens, u feel like u were built up (picked 4 the team) only to be let down (not played)….AND THAT SUCKS!!!!…

I like MK and all, but your right she cannot really act. All the videos she did with ash cannot be called serious acting like what Sienna Miller is doing. Maybe one day she will learn to act but she’s not there yet.
