Just because they're a good match or have been together forever doesn't mean they know how to look good together. And sometimes the reverse is true, if you get what I mean. If you don't, try to stay on task while we go over the elementals of couples' fashion.

The perfectly fashionably in-tune couple compliment each other. They don't try to out-do each other. Yet they have to actually have a sense of style innate to pull it off. Otherwise, it's like Doppelgangers.

My favorite celebrity couple, at least in pictures? The Beckhams. They are just so screamingly chic, even when casual. The best part about them is that if pictured separately, they look every bit as good as when together. The Beckhams claim it's Victoria that does the styling; if so, that girl is on.

My least favorite? That's easy - it's Speidi, the blond dimwits from The Hills. Every thing they do, every outfit they're seen in, is calculated to increase their media whorishness. Their hair is the same color. They wear matching outfits, like idiot twins. (hey, you don't see Mary Kate and Ashley wear twinsies anymore!) They even have the same gleaming white Chiclet teeth - it's terrifying. As a matter of fact, when Heidi wore her hair pinned up to a recent event, the result was terrifying. It was like Spencer in drag. Really.

To recap, the couples who are individually stylish while pairing well with their partners are the winners here. Those who think it's cool to dress like schoolmates or married first cousins have to realize they're just going to creep everyone out, and should hire a stylist. Pronto.
