Mary-Kate and Ashley might again make their considerable presence felt at this years annual Costume Institute Benefit Gala at New York’s Metropolitan Opera House in New York City this Monday, May 7, 2007.

MORE MET: The bold-faced names expected to attend Monday’s Costume Institute gala at New York’s Metropolitan Opera House keep rolling in. The latest addition is Jennifer Lopez and hubby Marc Anthony, who will be joining Bruno Frisoni at Roger Vivier’s table. Coincidentally, much of the Vivier line is inspired by Poiret, including the Rosine clutch, named after Poiret’s famed fragrance.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Hudson is serving as the evening’s entertainment. She is expected to wear a Michael Kors creation, and will be introduced on stage by two of the party’s co-chairs, Cate Blanchett and Balenciaga’s creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière. Her choice of songs could not be learned. While fashion houses are typically loath to confirm any of their celebrity guests until the moment they step out on the red carpet in one of their creations, other celebrities said to be ascending the Met’s grand staircase on Monday night include Jennifer Garner, Mischa Barton, Kirsten Dunst, Kate Bosworth, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Hudson, Liv Tyler and Emily Blunt.

NEW YORK.- Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute will present "Poiret: King of Fashion," on view May 9 – August 5, 2007. Paul Poiret – who at the height of his career in pre-World War I France was the undisputed "King of Fashion" and whose sweeping vision led to a new silhouette that liberated women from the corset and introduced the shocking colors and exotic references of the Ballets Russes to the haute couture – will be celebrated with a landmark exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art from May 9 through August 5, 2007. He has not been the focus of a major museum exhibition in more than 30 years.

To celebrate the opening of the exhibition, the Museum’s Costume Institute Benefit Gala will take place on Monday, May 7, 2007. François-Henri Pinault will serve as Honorary Chair of the Gala. Co-Chairs will be actress Cate Blanchett, Nicolas Ghesquière, Creative Director of Balenciaga, and Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue.
