Earlier this week, Comedy Central aired Bob Saget's “Roast” wherein a comedian is shaken up and “roasted” as much as possible. It’s often hosted by a celebrity or close friend and John Stamos was the host of Bob’s.
Since these roasts tend to get very, very dirty, it’s unsurprising that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were brought up quickly and brought up often during the show.
Bob knew things were going to get dirty and he’s often mentioned MK and Ashley in his comedy routines before. However, he told the NY Post that the roast–which airs August 18–will have to be “edited gingerly.”
“Anybody who talks about my TV kids - that upsets me the most,” Bob said. “I am very protective. I love them very, very much.”
John agreed that the comics crossed a few lines, but didn’t know how MK and Ashley would take it.
“I truthfully don’t know where their sense of humor lies these days,” he said. “I thought some of [the roast] was a little over the top.”
I’m sure that MK and Ashley understand the nature of comedy–and the nature of a “roast”–and as long as it’s edited respectfully, I’m sure it will be fine.
Will you watch the roast?
