- When Mary-Kate mentions that she loves English-style
horseback riding and competes over two-foot jumps, Ashley
adds that her sister recently won blue ribbons in two horse
shows. "She's very good. She's been riding since she was,
like, 5 so. . . ."
Mary-Kate cuts her off: "Ashley, I'm not
that good."
"Yes, she is," Ashley whispers.
Now Mary-Kate is annoyed. In a voice slightly
huskier than her sister's, she says, "No, Ashley, I'm not.
I haven't been riding since I was 5. I rode Western when
I was 5 to 7."
After a pause, she says riding is her passion
and that she always has loved horses. Then she remembers
the part about blue ribbons and scrunches up her face. "I
don't want you to mention that," she tells a reporter, clearly
mortified that her friends might think she's bragging, that
she is--horror of all adolescent horrors--conceited. "I'd
feel all weird, like I was saying, 'Oh, yeah, I got first
place.' I'd feel, like, awkward saying that 'cause it's
not, like, a big deal or anything."
That seems to be how these teens see themselves.
Like, not a big deal. And that's probably a good thing.
The moment they see themselves as, like, The Olsen Twins
is probably the moment American girls stop seeing themselves
in Ashley and Mary-Kate.

Horseback riding game featuring the Olsen twins
Compete in dressage, jumping, and cross-country events
Practice, adventure, and career game modes
Explore large forest and island levels
For 1 or 2 players
Product Description
It's not very often that a game aims to be fun and realistic while
instilling a sense of personal involvement and responsibility. Mary-Kate
and Ashley: Winners Circle does that within the theme of horseback
riding. Players compete in such equestrian events as dressage, jumping,
and cross-country, and learn the basics of caring for a horse. The
game offers a practice mode, which lets riders master the controls
and explore a course before entering events, and an adventure mode
with large forest and island levels where players can play minigames
or just simply explore.

Reviewer:
Annie (St. Louis, MO) This game was very fun, and I recommend it
to anyone 13 and younger. I'm 14 now and I love horses, so obviously,
I still liked the game. I am trying to find a game called Equestriad
2001, I heard it was more realistic and for older, more intense
players. The adventures in Mary-Kate and Ashley's Winner's Circle
are horrible, and when you do the cross country, if you miss a jump,
Mary-Kate, or whoever, keeps buging you and saying "You missed a
check-point", blah blah blah, fifty million times! Or "You're on
the wrong path!" when you're trying to turn around and jump the
jump again! Even though it sounds like I hate the game, I still
had a lot of fun with it.
